This project was a market analysis and financial feasibility study related to a suburban new town development on the east coast of Malaysia, one which will serve as a major government center for the State of Pahang. It is also a stop on the new East Coast Rail Line that is currently under construction.
Sized at over 2,000 acres, the project will provide over 6,000 units in various forms: linked terraced homes, duplexes, semidetached, and bungalows. Target population is approximately 30,000 people..
Additionally, there is a Central Business District covering an area of approximately 280 acres anchored by the state government office complex, and offering a range of corporate offices, and retail/F&B developments. Areas have been allocated for mosques, primary and secondary schools, recreational parks, lakes, and sports facilities.
Brian Jennett led the team that performed this analysis while employed as a Director of Economics + Planning at AECOM. Planning and design was by others.
